Overview
Anneal watches every project on your Mac and answers one question from the menu bar, continuously: is it safe to upgrade this right now — and is what I already have still trustworthy?
Problem
The cooldowns npm, pnpm, Renovate and Dependabot shipped in 2026 are gates at install time: they decide what may enter, then stop looking. Nothing watches what's already sitting in your lockfile.
Our decisions
Every upgrade gets a verdict — cleared, security fix, waiting on cooldown, needs a look — instead of a wall of data. Anneal remembers every version it has seen, so it can tell you when a package degrades after you installed it, and in which of your projects it lives. It only reads: it never modifies a file or runs a command, and the upgrade command goes to your clipboard.
